An Evening of Plain-Clothes Glam Rock and Non-Casual Drinking with The Sorrys on July 20!

By Administrator

The Sorrys will be bringing their potential train wreck to Gus’ Pub on Friday, July 20th, to celebrate the release of their debut album “The Last Clear Thought Before You Fall Backwards.” The album was recorded in Halifax by Sir Charles Austin and mixed by Todd Tobias in Ohio. Todd, who’s best known for his work with Guided By Voices and Robert Pollard, also added keyboards to the record.

The Sorrys will be joined by Montgomery Moth and 5 bucks will get you a ticket to ride!

In terms of writing and recording, The Sorrys take their music pretty seriously. But when it comes to playing live it’s all about the party. And not that pre-programmed party type thing where the band has every last sing-along planned down to the second and know just when they’re going to play that “killer” cover to get the gang dancing. “There’s nothing wrong with that sort of show” says Trevor Millett, The Sorrys’ vocalist, “that’s just not what we do. For one thing we don’t do any covers because we usually don’t have enough time to do all our of own songs, and they’ve already been done anyway. I’ve always enjoyed those shows where you don’t really know what’s going to happen next, that the whole thing could just derail at anytime. So we try to get ourselves in a frame of mind where that can happen. And for us that usually involves an un-healthy amount of beer.”

They'll also be playing an in-store performance at CD Plus on Barrington Street the following day at 2:00 PM.
