Eric’s Trip perform on the East Coast this October 19th and 20th

By Administrator

Legendary noise rock act Eric’s Trip are re-uniting for a series of dates including East Coast shows in October. Dates are as follows:

Oct. 19 Moncton, NB Paramount *
Oct. 20 Halifax, NS The Marquee (Halifax Pop Explosion)
* w/ opening set from Rick White, Blue Heeler and Moonsocket

Made up of Rick White, Julie Doiron, Chris Thompson and Mark Gaudet, Eric’s Trip rose from anonymity to international renown in the 90’s. Hailing from Moncton, NB, the group was the first Canadian act signed to the seminal Seattle based label, Sub Pop Records. Through their three acclaimed full-length albums, Love Tara (1993), Forever Again (1995), Purple Blue (1996) and several EP’s and self-released recordings, the band delivered a heavily distorted mixture of melodic songwriting and lo-fi production values.

Since their break-up in 1996, White has gone on to release revered albums as part of Elevator To Hell and under the moniker Rick White Album. Doiron has had a successful solo career that saw her latest effort, Woke Myself Up (which featured all of Eric’s Trips members), nominated for the 2007 Polaris Prize. Thompson continues to perform as Moonsocket and has recently formed The Memories Attack with Orange Glass’ Ron Bates. Gaudet has performed as part of Elevator To Hell, he is now a regular with acts such as The Robins, Funeral Fog and Purple Knight.
