Shirley Jackson's "Comfort Food" Receives World Wide Attention

By Tamzzs

Shirley Jackson’s new CD “Comfort Food” has attracted sales from New Zealand to Norway on the worldwide web, and with 50% of all on-line sales emanating from Europe,........

Jackson is contemplating a jump across the pond to perform her brand of horn-powered east coast blues music

“We’re in the process of pulling together our 3rd tour of Alberta this summer” says Jackson “but we’re also hoping to take the Good Rockin’ Daddys sound and energy over to Europe later this fall” says the Dartmouth-based blues singer.

Shirley Jackson and Her Good Rockin’ Daddys will perform at this year’s East Coast Music Awards being held Feb. 9-10 in Fredericton. Comfort Food, Jackson’s second commercial release, has been nominated for an East Coast Music Award for Blues Recording of the Year.

“This is the ECMA’s 20th Anniversary and it’s an honor being nominated and also a great opportunity to perform in front of a large venue with delegates from around the world” says Jackson.

“Comfort Food” – which features seven original tracks by Jackson – was officially released at the last year’s Atlantic Jazz Festival and features some of Nova Scotia’s best blues artists.

The Good Rockin’ Daddys play at Bearly’s House of Blues and Ribs in Halifax, Saturday, January 26th at 10:00pm warming up before their ECMA Blues Showcase in Fredericton on February 9th.
