The Contact’s New “Canvas Tears? Album Release 26 June

Halifax rock quartet The Contact, are pleased to announce the follow up to their multi awarded project "Paralyzed From The Soul Up."The new CD called "Canvas Tears" features 13 brand new tracks including the first radio single called "Black Sea." Radio promotion of Black Sea will begin May 7, 2007

Producing the group's third studio album is Grammy winner Quinlan (Benjamin Gate, Delirious? Rebecca St. James) , who has also co-written on the album.
"This project is very exciting because we're using different approaches and different sounds," says Geoffrey Fifield, songwriter and guitarist for The Contact. "Lyrically, it contains much more maturity, intensity and depth, and musically, it's very progressive."

Recorded at the Sonic Temple and The Music Room in Halifax, as well as Fiction Room Studios in Columbus Ohio, the album is due out in stores June 26. The CD was mixed by Chuck Zwicky (Prince, Soul Asylum, Chantal Kreviazuk) in New York City and mastered by Dave Collins (The Police, Bruce Springsteen, Soundgarden) at Collins Audio Los Angeles.

In addition to preparing for this summer's album launch, The Contact is getting ready to start extensive touring that will see them on their first full tours in the US in the summer as well as numerous festival dates.

The Contact will be hosting CD release parties in their hometown of Halifax on June 15 and 16, before hitting the road for a couple of dates in Ontario and the venturing into the USA for three weeks.
