MUSICIANS FOR FARMERS ...a celebration of local food!

Halifax - Come celebrate local and ecologically produced food in support of Heliotrust on Saturday February 23rd 2008 6pm to midnight at the North Street Church (5657 North Street).

Admission is $15 and includes cover, a donation to Heliotrust, a delicious locally-sourced meal by Terroir Local Source Catering, a Vegetable Puppet Show(!), speakers on various issues relating to farmers and food security, and performances by Smokin\' Contraband, Raging Grannies, Tanya Davis, Zac Crouse, Steve Gates, Grand Sass Parilla, Rock Beat Scissors, The Halifax String Quartet, Denma and the Crow Kings, Nicolas Veltmeyer, and more!

This is an all-ages event. Farmers get in for free of course!

Bring Your Own forks and mugs for hot cider and seeds for the seed swapping table!

Heliotrust is an Ecology Action Centre affiliate whose projects include: farmland conservation, sustainable farming practices, biodiversity, and conserving and imparting rural wisdom. www.heliotrust.ca

This M4F event will see the much-anticipated book release of Twilight Meetings – Celebrating the Wisdom of our Farmer Mentors - jam packed with guidance, reflections, and stories from 20 farming mentors. It will be selling for the special launch price of $15 including a packet of red fife wheat seed!
