Buck 65 Performs with Symphony NS

By Tamzzs

Symphony Nova Scotia takes the stage with Nova Scotia hip-hop artist Buck 65 in a nearly sold-out concert on Friday, April 18 at 7:30 pm at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium. This performance is Buck 65’s only Halifax show on his Canada-wide tour – and it’s also the very first time the Symphony has collaborated with a hip-hop artist.

"This will be one of the biggest night of my career,” says Buck 65. “I'm terribly excited and mildly terrified. This is one those things I'll tell the grandkids about one day..."

Buck 65 will perform selections from his diverse and celebrated catalogue, specially arranged for Symphony Nova Scotia, including Surrender to Strangeness, Devil’s Eyes, Way Back When, Roses and Bluejays, The Floor, and Cries a Girl.

He’ll also perform a brand-new orchestral work with Symphony Nova Scotia cellist Norman Adams and percussionist Terry O’Mahoney. Commissioned by CBC and written by Symphony Nova Scotia’s resident conductor Dinuk Wijeratne, it’ll show off the best of this one-of-a-kind collaboration. CBC will also be broadcasting the concert on May 23 on CBC Radio 2.

This performance is almost sold out, so get your tickets now! Tickets are $32-47.50 each (HST included) – call 494.3820 or visit www.SymphonyNovaScotia.ca.
