take home three 2007 East Coast Music Awards
Jill Barber wins two
(Halifax, NS) - George Canyon, In-Flight Safety, Joel Plaskett Emergency and JP Cormier win
three East Coast Music Awards each; while Jill Barber closely followed with two awards when the
2007 East Coast Music Awards were handed out Sunday night in a nationally televised broadcast
on CBC Television, live from Halifax's Metro Centre.
The 2007 East Coast Music Award winners are:
Sirius Satellite Radio Entertainer of the Year: George Canyon
*** This makes Canyon winner of the Fans' choice Entertainer of the Year award for the third
consecutive year

In addition, the Dr. Helen Creighton Lifetime Achievement Award was presented posthumously to
legendary Nova Scotia vocalist Portia White, one of the great contralto vocalists in the history of
Canadian classical music . There to receive her award was White's sister Yvonne White. .

The show capped off a four-day extravaganza of multi-genre musical performances, conference
